Suppose you want to learn how to add digital planners to GoodNotes or Noteshelf! My digital planners are PDF files, so you can import them into any app that supports note-taking and hyperlink functionality.

Download Your Digital Planning File

After downloading your digital planning file from my Etsy shop, locate the PDF file in the Files App.

Downloads typically go to the iPad’s Files App in the Downloads folder.

  1. Swipe down on the iPad’s screen and type in Files in the search field to locate the Files App and open it.
  2. Navigate to the left column and locate Downloads.
  3. Locate the PDF file.

Importing a PDF Digital Planner into GoodNotes

Long press on the PDF file icon in the Files App

  1. On the pop-up screen, choose Share
  2. On the next pop-up screen, swipe the apps in a row until you locate the GoodNotes App. If you don’t see it, swipe to the right and choose More and then find GoodNotes.
  3. You can also scroll down and choose Open in GoodNotes
  4. GoodNotes will open and ask where to open the new digital planner. Choose Import as New Document. The planner will automatically open.

Importing a PDF Digital Planner into Noteshelf

Long press on the PDF file icon in the Files App

  1. On the pop-up screen, choose Share
  2. On the next pop-up screen, scroll down to Open in Noteshelf.
  3. Tap Done when completed importing into Noteshelf.
  4. Open the Noteshelf App, and the PDF will be on the gallery page.

Another Way to Import PDF Digital Planners to GoodNotes

  1. With GoodNotes open, navigate to Documents, then tap the + icon.
  2. On the pop-up screen, choose Import and use the Browse feature to locate the PDF planner.

Another Way to Import PDF Digital Planners to Noteshelf

  1. With Noteshelf open, navigate to All Notes, then tap the + icon at the top right corner.
  2. On the pop-up screen, choose Import Document and use the Browse feature to locate the PDF planner.
